Dyslexia Screening

£140

Our dyslexia screening provides a detailed overview of a child's strengths and challenges, and can indicate the likelihood of a specific learning difficulty such as dyslexia. While it does not provide a formal diagnosis, it includes a written report with recommendations for support and intervention and can help determine whether a full diagnostic assessment should be considered.

*If you decide to book a full diagnostic assessment following the screening, half of the screening cost will be credited towards the assessment fee.

Specialist Support for Children

Diagnostic Assessment

£560

A full diagnostic assessment for children and young people aged 8-16, provides a detailed understanding of a child's learning profile. By combining background information, educational history, and standardised diagnostic assessments, we identify patterns of strengths and difficulties. Where appropriate, the assessment may lead to a formal diagnosis of dyslexia and includes a detailed report with practical recommendations for home, school, and further support.

*Payment can be made in three instalments. Further details of the assessment process can be found below.

Our Assessment Process

Our diagnostic assessment involves much more than a series of tests. It is a comprehensive process designed to build a detailed understanding of a child's learning profile, drawing on background information, standardised assessment data, professional observations, and expert interpretation.
1. Background Information

Following booking, questionnaires are completed by parents/carers and the child's school to provide important information about educational history, strengths, and areas of concern.

2. Assessment Planning

This information is carefully reviewed to identify key areas for investigation and to select the most appropriate assessment tools for your individual child.

3. Assessment Session

Over approximately three hours, your child will complete a range of standardised diagnostic assessments to explore literacy skills, learning strengths, and areas of difficulty.

4. Analysis and Diagnostic Decision-Making

Assessment data, background information, professional observations, and discussions with your child are carefully triangulated to determine whether their learning profile is consistent with dyslexia.

5. Comprehensive Written Report

A detailed report is produced outlining assessment findings, diagnostic conclusions, and practical recommendations for school, home, and further support. Reports are fully SASC-compliant and can be used to support applications for Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) when your child progresses to higher education.

6. Optional Feedback and Next Steps

Families have the opportunity to discuss the findings, recommendations, and any questions arising from the assessment.

Our aim is not simply to determine whether a diagnosis is appropriate, but to develop a clear understanding of how a child learns and identify the support that will help them make progress with confidence.
